Our Story
Evoke Recovery was founded in 2016 by Ericka J. Valdez. A woman of color who rose above traumatic life adversary's. Evoke grew into a behavioral health service agency by the committed behavioral health technicians who encouraged Ericka that quality behavioral health services are essential for communities to thrive.   Evoke means to bring forth consciousness; when a person suffers from Trauma, many of the symptoms experienced are driven by the unconscious. Therefore, change is only possible through first acknowledging.....evoking. Evoke began with a dream to provide quality behavioral health services to underprivileged communities to allow them the right to thrive. Allow Evoke Recovery to help understand your mind, spirit, and body through the use of the latest scientific evidence-based therapy modalities, behavioral health mentoring, and coaching. What are you waiting for? Let's go on healing adventure.

The real story, my original goal was to go to beauty school or become a tattoo model, because I loved all things hair and makeup. This explains why I change my look all the time, yes you will find me in different hair styles, colors, and tattoos as this is still a passion of mines. On a more personal note, how did an undocumented immigrant, alcoholic parents, with abandonment and sexual abuse trauma, and to top things off a teen mother managed to defy statistics, the odds? I am a survivor of trauma and managed to break my family’s generational trauma through extensive amount of therapy and then becoming a therapist myself. Trauma changed me indeed, my journey was painful, I am no longer afraid of what happened to me, and I am here to help others find healing and meaning in life. There is an amazing path ahead full of joy, peace, and love after trauma. I dare you to find this beautiful path to recovery, what are you waiting for!
